Katie is a visual artist and graphic designer based in Sausalito, California.

Katie founded Shion Studio in 2017 after spending a decade as a Design Director at some of the nation’s largest advertising agencies. With a BFA from Pratt Institute, she has a design-forward approach, specializing in branding, digital design, and leading teams and organizations with a strategic mindset. 

Katie’s professional experience ranges across industries, including clients like Google, Apple, Asics, Verizon, Under Armour, Vitamin Water, Metlife, Uber, Myriad Genetics, and more. 

She’s led her team to win industry recognition, and has also helped to select international achievement in digital design as a member of the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences, serving as a judge for the Webby Awards. Katie has also recently joined the community of executive women as a member of Chief in San Francisco.

In her art practice, Katie aspires to illuminate the joy inherent in the ordinary. Drawing inspiration from the humor and intrigue found in the simplicity of her surroundings, she transforms these elements through the prism of her unique perspective.

This dual commitment to design and art reflects her impactful presence across both domains.
